For all flowers, upon receiving your package from Lola, immediately open the package, inspect all flowers, take them out of the box and remove any packaging.
They may appear limp or tired after their journey and this is completely normal. All types of wedding flowers should be kept in clean vases or containers in a cool, dim location, away from direct sunlight, draughts or excessive heat.
To maximize vase life, re-cut the stems and change the water in the vases every day.

For specific flower care instructions, please read on below.

How to care for Large White Calla Lilies:

Upon receiving your large calla lilies, inspect all flowers, take them out of the box and remove all packaging. They may appear limp or tired after their journey and this is completely normal. Large calla lilies require at least 6 hours in water to re-hydrate after their trip and blooms will open in approximately 1-3 days. Hold the ends of the stems underwater and trim them diagonally at least ¼ inch from the ends using a sharp knife. Place your calla lilies immediately in clean vases or containers with lots of fresh water. Keep the flowers in a cool, dim location, away from direct sunlight, draughts or excessive heat. To maximize vase life, re-cut the stems and change the water in the vases every day using the above steps.

TIP: Large calla lilies have a natural bend to their stems. In order to minimize the curve, lay the flowers horizontally on a flat surface and wrap the ends of the stems in wet newspaper. Allow them to remain for up to 4 hours, checking on them from time to time.

How to care for your Mini Ivory Calla Lilies:

Upon receiving your mini calla lilies, inspect all flowers, take them out of the box and remove any packaging. They may appear limp or tired after their journey and this is completely normal. Mini calla lilies require at least 6 hours in water to re-hydrate after their trip. Hold the ends of the stems underwater and trim them diagonally at least ¼ inch from the ends using a sharp knife. Place mini calla lilies immediately in clean vases or containers with only 2-3 inches of water. Keep the flowers in a cool, dim location, away from direct sunlight, draughts or excessive heat. To maximize vase life, re-cut the stems and change the water in the vases every day using the above steps.

TIP: The stem ends of calla lilies can drip when out of water. To prevent them dripping on clothing, make sure to take calla lily bouquets and boutonnieres out of water for approx 30 minutes so that the ends can dry before you carry the flowers.

Care of Blue Hydrangeas flowers:

Upon arrival remove all packaging and cut stems diagonally approx 1 inch from the end under running water with a sharp knife. (Hydrangea flower stems are woody so make sure your blade is up to the job!). You may cut slits or fray the ends of the stems also to allow the flowers to take up as much water as possible. After cutting, place the ends of the stems immediately in warm water for 5 seconds, then transfer to a clean vase filled with lots of fresh, cool water and add floral preservative. Remove any fading petals.
Hydrangeas flowers are fast drinkers so remember to keep refreshing and filling the water in the vases, especially overnight. It is normal for hydrangeas to appear sleepy or thirsty upon arrival and they need 24hrs to re-hydrate after their journey. Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts, excessive heat. Re-cut stems and refresh water every 1-2 days to help your hydrangeas flowers live long and beautifully.

TIP: To refresh your hydrangeas, dunk the entire flower heads in cool water and allow them to remain submerged for approx 20 mins. Also, hydrangeas make great dried flowers. If you wish to preserve your hydrangeas bridal flower bouquet, hang the bouquet upside down in a warm location for a few days after the wedding. Dried hydrangea flower arrangements last typically for around 8 months.

How to care for your White Cymbidium Orchids:

Upon receiving your cymbidium orchid flowers, inspect all flowers, take them out of the box and remove all packaging and water tubes if present. Hold the ends of the stems underwater and trim them diagonally at least ¼ inch from the ends using a sharp knife. Place your orchid flowers immediately in clean vases or containers with lots of fresh water. Keep the flowers in a dim location, away from direct sunlight, draughts or excessive heat. To maximize vase life, re-cut the stems and change the water in the vases every day using the above steps.

TIP: Orchids don’t like to be too cold! The optimal temp to keep orchid flowers is around 65 degrees F.

How to care for your Sunflowers:

Upon receiving your sunflowers, inspect all flowers, take them out of the box and remove all packaging. It is normal for them to look tired after their long journey. Hold the ends of the stems underwater and trim them diagonally at least ¼ inch from the ends using a sharp knife. Place the sunflowers immediately in clean vases or containers with lots of fresh water (they are very thirsty!). Keep the flowers away from direct sunlight, heat and drafts. To maximize vase life, re-cut the stems and change the water in the vases every day using the above steps.

TIP: Sunflowers are shipped in partial bud form. Petals will open up to light and warmth. Sunflowers have naturally arched necks so they look best in tall vase arrangements.

How to Care for your Wedding Greenery:

Upon receiving your box of mixed greenery, inspect all bunches, take them out of the box and remove all packaging. Place your greenery immediately in clean vases or containers with lots of fresh water. Always keep greenery in an air-conditioned location away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
How to care for your Oriental Lilies:

Upon arrival remove all packaging and cut stems diagonally approx 1 inch from the end under running water with a sharp knife. Remove all leaves that will fall below the water line. Immediately place all lilies in a container with fresh, lukewarm water and add floral preservative. It is normal for flowers to appear sleepy or thirsty upon arrival and they need 24hrs to re-hydrate after their journey. Keep flowers away from direct sunlight, drafts, excessive heat. Re-cut stems and refresh water every 1-2 days to help your lily flowers live long and beautifully.

Opening of oriental lily flower buds:
After the lilies have been in water for 24hrs and you are ready for them to open, roll each bloom between your hands, applying light pressure to the bud. Stop rolling the moment that you see the tip of the flower begin to open and allow the rest to blossom naturally. Sunlight, warm water and warmer temperatures also speed flower opening.

IMPORTANT: As the flower is opening, it is important to gently pull off the anthers (end part) from the stalk to prevent pollen from forming. The pollen of oriental lilies will stain everything it touches, including hands, petals and dresses. If pollen comes into contact with clothing, remove with sticky tape or a pipe cleaner.
